Arizona Talks, Mesa United Way, and the Mesa Chamber of Commerce are hosting a public forum on the topic of Teen Suicide. The seminar is titled, "Teen Suicide: Take Action, Save Lives" and will feature conversations focusing on the experience of students, parents, and educators. Resources and counseling will be available for attendees.
The reception will start at 5:30PM and the program will start at 6:15PM.
The event will bring together some of Arizona's top experts on this issue and local voices for action. The program includes an overview of the rise of teen suicides in the East Valley, personal stories, a panel discussion on solutions and a reception. The FREE and open to the public event is on Wednesday, May 9th starting at 5:30PM, in Mesa, AZ.
Topics that will be discussed include prevention, including recognizing warning signs, improving communication between parents and their teens, monitoring social media closely, and getting help immediately for those in crisis. Live music, refreshments, and many opportunities to take action!
